1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

• Google Sign-In — If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. This is used for account identification and is stored locally on your device.
• Notification preferences — Your preferred notification time and language setting, submitted when you register for daily panchang reminders.

b) Information collected automatically

• Device identifier — A randomly generated device ID used to associate your notification preferences and jaap session history with your device. This is not your hardware serial number or advertising ID.
• FCM token — A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used solely for delivering push notifications you have opted into.
• Location (latitude & longitude) — Used to compute location-specific panchang data such as sunrise, sunset, Rahu Kaal, and Choghadiya times. Location is requested only when you use the "My Location" feature and is stored locally on your device. We do not track your location continuously.
• Naam Jap session data — Mantra name, count, and session duration are recorded locally and optionally synced to our server for backup and cross-device access.
• App usage analytics — We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as screen views, feature usage, and app stability metrics. This data is not linked to your personal identity.
• Crash reports — Firebase Crashlytics collects crash logs, stack traces, and device state at the time of a crash to help us identify and fix bugs. Crash data may include device model, OS version, and app state.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• Computing and displaying accurate, location-specific panchang data
• Sending daily panchang push notifications at your preferred time
• Storing and syncing your Naam Jap mantra session history
• Improving app stability through crash reports and analytics
• Delivering ads through Google AdMob (free tier only; no ads appear on any Naam Jap screen)
• Processing in-app purchases for the premium ad-free experience

We do not use your data for profiling, selling to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to the core functionality of Tithi Mala.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local storage — Most user data (preferences, jaap counter, selected city, Google account info) is stored locally on your device using MMKV encrypted storage and is never transmitted unless you explicitly trigger a sync.
• Server storage — Notification registration data and synced jaap sessions are stored on our servers hosted on AWS (Mumbai region, ap-south-1) with a Neon PostgreSQL database. All API communication uses HTTPS with HMAC request signing.
• No passwords — We do not store passwords. Authentication is handled entirely through Google Sign-In.

5. Data Retention

We retain server-side data (notification preferences, jaap session history) for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Local data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Data is shared only with:

• Google Firebase services (analytics, crash reporting, push notifications) — as described in Section 3
• Google AdMob — for serving ads to non-premium users
• Law enforcement — only if required by applicable law

7. Children’s Privacy

Tithi Mala is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete such data.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — Request deletion of your data from our servers
• Opt out of notifications — Disable push notifications from your device settings at any time
• Opt out of ads — Purchase the premium upgrade to remove all advertising
• Opt out of analytics — Disable analytics collection via your device’s Google settings
